PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical resonator that can provide a laser output close to a theoretical value. SOLUTION: The optical resonator 10 is provided with a triple axicon mirror 1 at one side of a laser medium 3 and provided with an output mirror 2 formed of a half mirror at the other side thereof. Two first and second relay mirrors 4 and 5 are used for forming an optical path in a Z-shape between the output mirror 2 and the triple axicon mirror 1 and provided on a halfway mark of the optical path. The triple axicon mirror 1 is a retro-reflector on which light incident from any direction can be reflected accurately. When the first relay mirror 4 is a convex mirror, the second relay mirror 5 is a concave mirror; and when the first relay mirror 4 is a concave mirror, the second relay mirror 5 is a convex mirror. Reflection surfaces of the first and second relay mirrors 4 and 5 are equal to each other in absolute value but have curvature radii opposite in sign to each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
