PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval device for performing similarity retrieval to various time-series data. SOLUTION: A pseudo code string generation part 16 converts each of a plurality of real vectors into pseudo codes as a set of a plurality of numbers, and generates a pseudo code string with those pseudo codes as its components. When setting the pseudo code string as a pattern, and defining texts whose number is equal to the number of the components of the pattern as partial texts successively from the leading of the text as the pseudo code string, a comparison part 32 successively compares the partial texts with the pattern from the tailing pseudo code of the pattern toward the leading pseudo code. When the result indicates a mismatch in the middle of comparison, a skip function generation part 22 generates a function for outputting the amounts of shift from the lead of the current partial text to the lead of the next partial text as a skip function. The skip function generation part 22 calculates the amounts of shift about all the values to be acquired as the pseudo codes.
