PURPOSE: A fuel cell system is provided to change the number of fuel cell modules connected to the load power according to the load power, and to change fuel cell module(s) connected to the load according to the load power. CONSTITUTION: A fuel cell system comprises: fuel cell modules of n units electrically connected in parallel with an external load, n being an integer greater than or equal to 2; a connection switching unit capable of switching a connection between each of said fuel cell modules and the external load; and a control unit configured to perform a switching operation of switching the fuel cell modules, connected to the external load, by using said connection switching means, in such manner that the number of fuel cell modules simultaneously connected to the external load is m (m=1, 2, 3, ···, n-1) according to the external load, when the temperature of at least one of the fuel cell modules is less than or equal to a predetermined temperature. |
