A sport shoe comprises an upper 100 and a sole 102. The sole 102, which may be constructed of rubber, leather, or any other appropriate material, comprises external underside portions or inserts 110, 112, 114 each of which form a shallow cavity 104, 106, 108 in the sole. Each of the inserts 110, 112, 114 has one or more traction-enhancing projections 116, which may be in form of spikes, cleats or studs. The projections 116 have a threaded portion 18 which pass thorough an aperture 120 in the insert and screws into a corresponding threaded hole 122 in the external surface of the sole 102. The inserts 112, 114, 116 are secured to the sole by the threaded projections 116. Inserts of differing thicknesses may be added to different areas of the shoe. The shoe may be a golf shoe, in which the biomechanical deficiencies of the user may be corrected by adjusting the height of a selected portion of each foot separately. |
