PURPOSE: An image quality improving method in an image display device is provided to maintain uniformity in color through a histogram analysis. CONSTITUTION: An image display device decodes an image signal into a luminance signal or a color signal(310). The image display device establishes a gain value about the brightness signal(315). The image display device analyzes the histogram about the color signal(320). The image display device extracts highest data of the analyzed histogram. The image display device adjusts the first gain value(340). The image display device adjusts the color of the image signal.
