<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell with low cost having high reliability by using a compact seal member excellent in airtightness. <P>SOLUTION: The polymer electrolyte fuel cell comprises an anode side seal member and a cathode side seal member at an anode side separator and a cathode side separator respectively, and an anode side gas sealing part and a cathode side gas sealing part which prevent leakage of gas from the gas passage to the outside of the cell in cooperation with the polymer electrolyte membrane. The gas seal member at one side has a rib having a top part contacting linearly with the sealing part, and the gas seal member at the other side seals the sealing part by contacting the same in planar form at the part where the both gas sealing members are corresponding to both sealing parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
