PURPOSE: A reel for a carrier tape and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce manufacturing costs by minimizing the volume and weight of the reel. CONSTITUTION: A reel(300) for a carrier tape comprises a reel plate unit(310), a core unit(320), and a winding unit(330). The reel plate unit is formed in a disk shape. Concavo-convex parts are formed on the reel plate unit. The core unit is composed of a rotary shaft insertion hole(321) and a hole support protrusions(322). The hole support protrusions are protruded along the circumference of the rotary shaft insertion hole. The winding unit is composed of multiple winding protrusions protruded from the reel plate unit in an arc shape.
