A combined cycle power plant comprises a system (9) for preheating inlet air to a gas turbine compressor and/or for fuel preheating (10a-b), where the fuel preheater comprises two or more stages. The preheaters are configured for the operation by means of heat from a CO2 capture system (21), from a CO2 cooling system (24, 24', 24"), from a heat consumer (12), from feedwater from a HRSG (5), from a heat exchange medium of a closed-circuit cooling system of the power plant, and/or from a flue gas cooler (20). The utilization of such heat in the preheater/s allows optimized thermal integration and increased overall power plant efficiency, in particular during part-load operation. A method of operating the power plant is proposed, where the gas turbine compressor inlet air is heated to a temperature above ambient in a range from 15 to 45°C. |
