<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic storage system difficult to falsify and less in the amount of storage data per slip. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electronic storage system is provided with an image reader for reading an image of a handwritten entry region in the slip with the handwritten entry region; a data processor for carrying out data processing for a transaction specified by information written in the handwritten entry region and generating a cipher code unique to the transaction; a first data server for storing image information read by the image reader, and character information showing the contents of the transaction, in a form of using the cipher code as an access key; and a second data server storing a journal of data processing including the cipher code, in a form of requiring the access key for the reference.
