PURPOSE: An insecticide containing rosemary extract or compound isolated from the extract is provided to suppress acyl CoA:cholesterol acyl transferase and to eliminate larva of pest. CONSTITUTION: An insecticide contains a compound of chemical formula 1 or agricultural chemically acceptable salt thereof. The compound is isolated from rosemary. The compound suppresses pest larva or nematode. The pest is Plutella xylostella, Spodoptera litura (Fabricius), or Hyphatria cunea. The rosemary extract contains the compound of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. The rosemary extract is isolated using an organic solvent such as alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms.
