PURPOSE: An exposure control device of a camera module is provided to change a rate of a high brightness area and a low brightness area by setting an adjusting area which is changed according to the characteristics of an image. CONSTITUTION: An adjustment area setting unit(130) detects at least one block with a block brightness in a predetermined range based on a block brightness of the highest brightness block. The adjusting area setting unit sets the detected block as a high brightness area with the high brightness block. The adjustment area setting unit detects at least one block with block brightness in the predetermined range based on block brightness of the lowest brightness block. The adjustment area setting unit sets the detected block as a low brightness area with the lowest brightness block.
