The radio module (FM) consists of a transmission and reception unit for radio signals, a communications unit for connection to a field unit (S1,S2,S3,A1,A2) and an intermediately connected conversion unit that converts the radio signals into field unit signals or vice-versa. The communications unit can be connected to an interface provided on the field unit.
