PURPOSE: An air conditioning apparatus for a car is provided to reduce the longitudinal size of the apparatus by reducing the quantity of components for controlling a mode door. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioning apparatus for a car comprises an air conditioning case(110), mode doors, ducts(115), and drive units(160). A defrost vent(112), a face vent(113), and a floor vent(114) are formed on both surfaces of the air conditioning case. The mode doors are rotatably installed on both surface of the air conditioning case and control the opening degrees of the vents. The ducts are connected to the vents and switch the exhaust path of air. The drive units are installed between the air conditioning case and the ducts and power the mode doors.
