Disclosed is a method of making a dust-reducing building panel including the steps of: a) selecting a dedusting agent from one of the group including natural waxes or synthetic waxes wherein the dedusting agent: i) is a solid at room temperature; and ii) melts due to frictional heating under conditions selected from the group consisting of machining, cutting, abrading or sanding; b) making a slurry including water, the dedusting agent and a hydraulic material selected from the group consisting of calcium sulfate hemihydrate and cement; c) depositing the slurry onto a facing material; d) forming the slurry into a panel; and e) allowing the slurry to set. |
