An inhaler device for inhalation of a medicament from a pierceable capsule (10) is disclosed. The device comprises housing (1) for receiving a medicament capsule (10). There is a closure means (3) for closing the housing (1) that is movable relative to the housing (1). There is a piercing means (7) that is suitable for piercing a medicament capsule (10). The movement of the closure means (3) causes the movement of the piercing means (7). The device further comprises an inhalation passage between the air inlet (71) and air outlet (72). Medicament capsule (10) is received in the chamber of the holder (2).There is also a means for generating turbulence in a fluid flow through the chamber. The means for generating turbulence extends substantially the entire length of the chamber and the inhalation passage comprises one or more vents. In use, the turbulent flow causes the vibration of a capsule (10) received by the chamber and this vibration assist in releasing medicament that is contained within the capsule (10).
