Disclosed are N-(alkyl)-N'-{ [({ 2-hydroxy-2-[4-hydroxy-phenyl]ethyl} amino)alkyl]phenyl} urea derivatives of formula (I), wherein R4 is selected from the group consisting of an optionally substituted monocyclic or polycyclic cycloalkyl group, an optionally substituted monocyclic aryl group and a methyl group which is substituted with one or more substituents selected from aryl and aryloxy groups; and wherein the remaining substituents are as defined herein. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound as defined above, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the composition optionally further comprises a therapeutically effective amount of one or more other therapeutic agents such as a corticosteroid, an antichlolinergic agent, or a PDE4 inhibitor, and wherein the composition is for the treatment of pulmonary diseases such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; or for pathological conditions or diseases such as pre-labor, glaucoma, neurological disorders, cardiac disorders and inflammation.
