The engine has a set of pressure chambers (12, 13) with variable volume, and a control member (7) provided with control openings for alternating connection of the chambers with respective low and high pressure sides (2, 3) of the engine. The control member connects the pressure chambers when one of the chambers is changed from the high pressure side to the low pressure side and the other chamber is changed from the low pressure side to the high pressure side during rerouting or reversing. A set of reversing openings (6) is arranged within an area of reversing bars (10, 10').
