A formwork bracing system is disclosed. The system is used to hold shutters, being the sides of a formwork, firmly during construction of a concrete slab and allow for adjustment of the position of individual shutters. The brace consists of a means (1, 2) to hold the brace in position, a brace body (3) that connects the parts and adjustment means (4, 5) allowing for the adjustment of an attached shutter. The holding means is formed as a trident, having two outer short pins (1) and one middle pin (2) welded to the brace body (3). The middle pin (2) is driven deeper into the ground than the other pins (1) and also rises above the brace body top, providing a point (9) with which to strike and drive the trident into the ground. The adjustment means consists of two parallel threaded rods (5) having two guiding nuts (4) each welded to the brace body (3). At the end of each rod (5) a further nut and fixing plate (7) is welded to be the attachment point for a shutter though fixing holes.
