Post driver control with plural control input control system requiring the use of two hands

Disclosed is a post or pile driving apparatus. The apparatus comprises: a monkey (2) to drive a post (4) either directly or via a post cap (3); and a plural control input control system for controlling the movement of the monkey. Movement of the monkey during a driving stroke requires the operator to simultaneously employ both hands to operate the control system. The requirement ensures that the operator's hand cannot be between the post/post cap and the monkey, when the monkey is operating at driving speed. The monkey can be lifted and lowered more slowly than the driving stroke speed by the use of an operator's single hand.
