<p>The device comprises a clamping device for the workpieces (1), comprising a collet chuck (14). With said method, the workpiece (1) is clamped, transported in the feed direction and worked. In order to design the device and the method such that the workpieces (1) can be clamped in a reliable and flexible manner, without requiring an extensive adjustment device, the clamping device comprises two first clamping carriages (3) that can be positioned independently from each other and two second clamping carriages (8) that can be positioned independently from each other and clamp the workpiece (1) from the other side than the first clamping carriages (3). With the method, the workpiece (1) is clamped transversely to the feed direction to approximately half the width, then one side of the workpiece (1) is worked, and the workpiece (1) is then reclamped such that it is clamped from the opposite side to approximately half the width. Then the workpiece (1) is worked further. The device and the method ensure optimum and reliable working of the workpieces (1).</p> |
