<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which does not necessitate the positional adjustment of an exposure means after assembled, and also, can achieve a reduction in size and weight thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A member 81 and a member 83 are positioned in nearly parallel to each other at a predetermined distance, and then, both ends of the members 81 and 83 facing to each other are respectively connected together by a member 82 and a member 84. Accordingly, a frame 8 for setting an exposure device 22 has high positional accuracy, and has a quadrangular shape with an opening at the center, thereby, the reduction in weight of the apparatus can be achieved. Then, a front-side panel 7a and a rear-side panel 7b are attached on both ends of the member 81 and the member 83.
