METHOD FOR INTEGRATING MANUAL INPUT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for starting the continuation of cursor action only when it is desired by a user by preventing starting when significant deceleration is detected.

SOLUTION: The method for continuously generating a signal for cursor movement/scrolling based on the tangential movement of a touch device on/above a touch detection input device includes steps for: measuring two or more representative tangential velocities during touch device operation; storing the measured velocities; transmitting the measured velocities to a calculation device; calculating a lift-off velocity from the touch device position immediately before lifting the touch device off; storing the calculated lift-off velocity; comparing the lift-off velocity with the representative tangential velocities; and inputting a mode for continuously moving the cursor when the tangential lift-off direction is approximately equal to the representative tangential direction and the tangential lift-off velocity is higher than a plurality of previously decided partial representative tangential velocities.
