PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for inflammatory bowel disease, to be added for preparing an amino acid composition for the inflammatory bowel disease, not only capable of parting from a low-trophic state but also ameliorating the inflammatory state at the acute advanced stage or at the recrudescent time of the inflammatory bowel disease. SOLUTION: The additive for the inflammatory bowel disease contains at least two kinds of sulfur-containing amino acids, tryptophane and branched-chain amino acids, and is added to an amino acid composition. When being added to the amino acid composition, the content of the sulfur-containing amino acid is 50.0-140.0 mg/g of the amino acid composition when the sulfur-containing amino acid is contained in the additive for the inflammatory bowel disease, the content of the tryptophane is 21.0-120.0 mg/g of the amino acid composition when the tryptophane is contained, and the content of the branched-chain amino acid is 170.0-460.0 mg/g of the amino acid composition when the branched-chain amino acid is contained.
