PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To plasticize cellulose derivatives that are inferior in fusibility or solvent solubility to improve compounding ability, moldability and/or processability thereof. SOLUTION: The plasticizer is a plasticizer for cellulose derivatives and contains an fluorene compound represented by formula (1), wherein A is an aromatic hydrocarbon ring; X<SP>1</SP>is a heteroatom-containing functional group; R<SP>1</SP>is an alkylene group; R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrocarbon group, ether group, thioether group, acyl group, alkoxycarbonyl group, halogen atom, nitro group, cyano group or N, N-disubstituted amino group; and R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrocarbon group, hydroxyl group, ether group or heteroatom-containing specific group.
