PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road gradient detector for a vehicle for detecting a road gradient without adding a special constitution. SOLUTION: The road gradient detector for a vehicle detects the road gradient without adding the special constitution by using the existing constitution such as a brake hydraulic sensor 54 for detecting brake hydraulic pressure corresponding to brake depressing force FBsince the detector detects that the gradient of a road where the vehicle runs is larger as the brake depressing force FBis larger based on the brake depressing force FBduring stop of the vehicle from a predetermined relationship.
