<p>A coded cartridge holder (200, 300) for use with a drug delivery device (100) is provided. The cartridge holder (200, 300) includes a fastener (212, 216, 308, 310, 402, 404) that becomes operative based in part on a length of a cartridge (120) or a diameter of the cartridge (120). In one embodiment, the cartridge holder (200, 300) is coupled to the drug delivery device (100). The cartridge holder (200, 300) comprises a first blocking feature (202, 204). The drug delivery device (100) includes a cartridge detector (206, 208, 210) comprising a second blocking feature (210). This feature (210) may be a pin (210), for engagement with the first blocking feature (202, 204) of the cartridge holder (200, 300) when the cartridge (120) acts on the cartridge detector (206, 208, 210). The cartridge holder (200, 300) may further include a fastening mechanism configured to fasten the cartridge holder (200, 300) to the drug delivery device (100) only when the second blocking feature (210) engages the first blocking feature (202, 204).</p> |
