<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable passing apparatus capable of easily overcoming obstacles existing in a conduit line. <P>SOLUTION: The cable passing apparatus 1 comprises a rotating body 2 with the surface formed in nearly a spherical surface, a holding unit 3 for rotatably holding the rotating body 2, a gripping unit 4 capable of gripping a communication cable 6a, and a connecting means 5 for removably connecting the holding unit and the gripping unit. The rotating body 2 is equipped with a rotating spherical body 21 formed in nearly a globular shape. The holding unit is provided along a direction intersecting a direction in which the rotating body is made to travel, and is equipped with a first axis A and a second axis B for rotatably holding the rotating body. The gripping unit has the connecting means fixed to one side thereof and is provided at the other side with a grasping unit body 41 unit into which one end of the communication cable 6a can be inserted, a cable cover gripping tool 42 capable of gripping the cover of the communication cable, and a tension member gripping tool 43 capable of gripping a tension member 6b.
