<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption when double-side printing is performed and post processing is performed by a post-processing device, in an image forming system including two interconnected image forming apparatuses. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming system includes first and second image forming apparatuses 100A and 100B, and the first image forming apparatus is located on the upstream side of the discharge direction of a recording sheet. At least the second image forming apparatus has a double-side printing function. When double-side printing is performed, one is selected from first double-side printing control of forming an image on one surface of the recording sheet with the first image forming apparatus and then forming an image on the other surface of the recording sheet with the second image forming apparatus, and second double-side printing control of performing double-side printing on the recording sheet using the second image forming apparatus. In this selection, which of the first and second double-side printing controls is used is determined according to first throughput per unit time including post processing in the post-processing device 500 when the first double-side printing control is performed and second throughput per unit time of the second image forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
