VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM AND VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control system and a vehicle control method capable of suppressing the deterioration of drivability while sufficiently achieving acceleration fit for the sensitivity of a driver by determining an optimum request value to an accelerator operation amount of the driver.

SOLUTION: The vehicle control system includes: an acceleration generation device (engine, T/M) generating acceleration in a vehicle; and a vehicle controller controlling the accelerator generation device based on an accelerator opening Pa corresponding to the operation of an accelerator by the driver and a vehicle velocity v of the vehicle. Relation between the accelerator opening Pa and requested acceleration Gx is changed while maintaining a prescribed characteristic based on minimum generation acceleration Gxmin that is an acceleration capable of being generated by the acceleration generation device.
