PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a ring-like shape material having a shape for preventing embrittlement of the ring-like shape material of an outer wheel of a bearing by a casting method capable of imparting the shape to a shaft direction of the outer wheel of the bearing instead of machining with CRF (cold rolling former) in the bearing incorporated in a hub unit. SOLUTION: The outer race shape material 1 for a bearing with the ring-like shape has an orbit wheel for rolling the rolling elements composed of balls or rollers on the inner circumferential surface thereof, wherein a recess groove 4 or a recessed cut portion 5a formed by reducing either an outer circumferential surface 1a or upper or lower ring ends 5 is formed while maintaining the state of keeping the shape of the ring inner circumferential surface of the outer race shape material 1, to obtain the outer race shape material 1.
