<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably transmit rotation of a motor to a member to be driven by composing an input side and an output side of a two-step gear meshed with gears, which are made of different material each other, with different material each other and preventing a part of a middle gear from wearing out in an earlier stage than a driven side gear. <P>SOLUTION: The rotation transmission mechanism 10 includes a motor gear 1, the middle gears 2 and 3, and a drum gear 4, and transmits the rotation of the motor 300 from the motor gear 1 to a photoreceptor drum 142 through the middle gears 2 and 3 and the drum gear 4. The middle gear 3 is constituted of two divisions, that is, the input side gear 31 meshed with the output side gear 22 of the middle gear 2 and the output side gear 32 meshed with the drum gear 4, and the input side gear 31 and the output side gear 32 are coaxially integrated. The input side gear 31 is composed of material more flexible than that of the output side gear 32. The output side gear 32 is composed of material harder than that of the drum gear 4.
