PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source controller which can be pulse-driven at a higher speed and to provide an endoscope apparatus. SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus 1 has: an insertion part 3; a constant current circuit 22; a parallel circuit 23 in which a laser diode LD as a light source and a dummy load PL having a resistance component are connected in parallel; a CPU 21 which exercises control so that the constant current from the constant current circuit 22 may be supplied to the laser diode LD and the dummy load PL alternately; and a main circuit 11 which performs processing for indicating or recording images which are obtained by imaging a subject illuminated by the light source by an imaging element 4.
