A picture processing method and an apparatus for an instant communication tool belong to a computer field. The method includes: obtaining related information of an edit area, wherein the related information at least includes an abscissa range and an ordinate range; when a start notification is received, obtaining position information of a start cursor and recording the position information, wherein the position information at least includes a coordinate; obtaining position information of current cursor in real time, generating a line based on the position information of the current cursor, the recorded position information and the related information, and updating the recorded position information to the position information of the current cursor. The apparatus includes: a first obtaining module, a second obtaining module and a generating module. The invention can draw a line along a cursor moving trace. |
