PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video transmission device quickly detecting switching of videos when a 2D video and a 3D video are switched to thereby provide smooth trial listening.

SOLUTION: The video transmission device is provided, which is equipped with: a transmission signal output part which outputs a video signal for displaying the two-dimensional signal or the three-dimensional signal, an audio signal for outputting sound, and a control signal in which information regarding the video signal and the audio signal is included; and a control part which controls the content of the control signal to be outputted from the transmission signal output part. The control part controls the transmission signal output part so as not to stop output of the video signal from the transmission signal output part, and to include information showing that the video signal to be outputted from the transmission signal output part is switched to the two-dimensional video in information showing that the video signal is the three-dimensional signal, which is outputted from the transmission signal output part when the video signal is switched from the three-dimensional video to the two-dimensional video.
