PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the erroneous mounting of a storage device on a controller without need of installing an additional component between the storage device and a controller while suppressing the increase of costs. SOLUTION: A controller 1 is configured to: (a) obtain identification information items 11a to 14a from a plurality of storage devices 11 to 14 configuring one storage array 2, and obtain mounting sequence data from management regions 11b to 14b; and (b) determine, on the basis of the identification information items 11a to 14a and the mounting sequence data, whether the plurality of storage devices 11 to 14 are connected as instructed by the mounting sequence data.
