BARRIER FILM, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, ORGANIC PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERSION ELEMENT HAVING THE SAME, AND SOLAR CELL HAVING THE ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrier film which has high productivity and can attain extremely high gas barrier performance and high durability and to provide a method for producing the barrier film, an organic photoelectric conversion element obtained by using the barrier film, and a solar cell obtained by using the element.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the barrier film comprises the steps of: applying a coating liquid containing polysilazane to the surface of a base material to form a coating film; drying the coating film; irradiating the dried coating film with vacuum ultraviolet light; and modifying the irradiated coating film to form a barrier layer, and further comprises a step of treating the surface of the dried coating film between the step of drying the coating film and the completion of the step of irradiating the dried coating film with vacuum ultraviolet light.
