PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire 'a running track display for a navigation device' which solves the following problem: some running tracks of a vehicle are displayed thickly on a road map of the navigation device, and the road map becomes difficult to view, on the occasion of displaying tracks ran by the vehicle on the road map, when the vehicle runs the same road many times. SOLUTION: On the occasion of detecting running track points each time when the vehicle runs a predetermined distance, storing data on the running track points in order of running, and displaying the running track by the data, a running track point is selected in order of newness from the stored data. Concerning the selected running route point, whether or not an already-displayed running track point exists within a predetermined distance range is detected. When exists, processing to make the running track point selected this time non-displayed is performed. Moreover, when it is detected that an already-displayed running track point exists within the predetermined distance range, concerning the new running track point. on the occasion of displaying a newly detected running track point, the running track point having been displayed already is deleted.
