PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflected type optical encoder capable of more improving the use efficiency of a reflected light at a light receiving part compared to a conventional type. SOLUTION: The reflected type optical encoder includes a light source 101, a reflection scale 130, a light detecting part 160 and a calculation unit 170. First light receiving parts 141, 151 of the light detection part receive the reflection light from first reflection parts 111, 121 at the reflection scale, and second light receiving parts 142, 152 receive the reflection light from second reflection parts 112, 122 that have a different slope from the first reflection parts.
