PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of making suction air flow into a cylinder so as to generate a tumble flow having a swirl component. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 300 includes a plurality of suction valves per one cylinder having umbrella-shaped sections ub and stems stm connected with one ends of the umbrella shaped sections ub, and the suction valves include a suction valve 301a wherein the stem stm is offset so as to enlarge an outer passing range otr located outside a combustion chamber 54 among a suction air passing range divided into two sections by a plane including the center axis P1 of the stem stm and so as not to make the center axis P1 of the stem stm include the center point P2 of a bottom surface of the umbrella-shaped section ub, and the suction valve 301b wherein the stem stm is offset so as to enlarge an inner passing range inr located at a center side of the combustion chamber 54 among the suction air passing range divided into two sections by the plane S1 including the center axis P1 of the stem stm and so as not to make the center axis P1 of the stem stm include the center point P2 of the bottom surface of the umbrella shaped section ub.
