PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dispersion of an insoluble material using a dispersant containing a polymer which is formed to impart a dispersion having an improved dispersibility and manifests an improved suspensibility. SOLUTION: There is provided the method for dispersing an insoluble material in an aqueous solution comprising (I) a step of preparing a formulation including at least one insoluble material and at least one dispersant containing a derivative of an agriculturally acceptable water-soluble alternating copolymer or their agriculturally acceptable salts, wherein the alternating copolymer comprises at least one of a first comonomer residue and at least one of a second comonomer residue, and the first comonomer is anα,β-unsaturated oxyacid or anhydride, and the second comonomer is an olefinic compound having one or more polymerizable double bonds, and (II) a step of dispersing the formulation in an aqueous medium.
