SOLUTION: In a fluid ejection apparatus, an ejection operation for ejection of a fluid from nozzles while a relative position of a first nozzle row in which the nozzles ejects a first fluid stand in a row in a predetermined direction and a second nozzle row ejects a second fluid and a medium is relatively moved in the movement direction intersecting the predetermined direction, and a movement operation for relatively moving the relative position of the first nozzle row and the second nozzle row and the medium to one direction of the predetermined direction, are repeated. In the fluid ejection apparatus, when a main image being the main image by the first fluid and at a predetermined image quality level and a background image by the second fluid are overlapped and formed on the medium, and when a first mode wherein the background image is formed earlier than the main image in a predetermined region of the medium and the image visually recognized from the image forming side is formed on the medium, is selected, the main image is formed by a dot forming method in accordance with the first mode, and when a second mode wherein the main image is formed earlier than the background image in the predetermined region of the medium and the image visually recognized from the opposite side of the image forming side is formed on the medium, is selected, the main image is formed by a dot forming method in accordance with the second mode.
