PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of hydrogenating a hydrogen storing material of a non-halogen type, wherein a starting raw material comprises a composition including LiH and B capable of being hydrogenated at low temperature and with a low hydrogen pressure, as compared to a composition of hydrogen storing material in which a starting raw material comprises LiH and B described in a heretofore known document. SOLUTION: A method of hydrogenating a hydrogen storing material for hydrogenating a compound including LiH and MB<SB>n</SB>(wherein M is a metal element having smaller hydrogenating active energy than B single body, and n is a valence of the element.).
