摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device which prevents electrolytic corrosion from occurring in a knuckle by the combination of a steel bearing and the light alloy knuckle, and which includes an electrolytic corrosion preventing film having excellent corrosion resistance and anti-rust performance; and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: Coating is electrodeposited on the external surface of an external member 2 by passing an electric current between the vertically mounted external member 2 and an electrodeposition coating liquid L. An outer diameter mask member 23 closely adhered so that a partial surface is not contacted with the electrodeposition coating liquid L is installed. The external member 2 is mounted so that a side surface 13 on the inner side of a vehicle body fixing flange 2c is located above. An end outer peripheral surface 16 on the inner side of the external member 2 is supported in the state of being projected from the fluid surface of the electrodeposition coating liquid L in an electrodeposition coating fluid filling tank 19. The height of the fluid surface is controlled by allowing the electrodeposition coating liquid L to overflow an upper opening end 19a of the electrodeposition coating fluid filling tank 19, thereby setting a coated portion and an uncoated portion of the external member 2.
