METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ENCRYPTING MULTICAST SERVICE IN PASSIVE OPTICAL NETWORK SYSTEM

A method for encrypting the multicast service in a passive optical network system is provided in the present invention, and the method includes: an Optical Line Terminal (OLT) generates a public key, transmits the multicast service data in a bearing channel after being encrypted using the public key, the multicast service data in the same bearing channel are encrypted using the same public key; and said OLT transmits the public key used to encrypt the multicast service data through a manage control channel to an Optical Network Unit (ONU) which has registered successfully and requested to receive said multicast service data. A device for encrypting the multicast service in a passive optical network system is also provided in the present invention. By applying the carrier channel encryption mechanism, the present invention is able to simplify the complexity of the OLT encryption mechanism and the ONU decryption mechanism, on the premise of ensuring the multicast service encryption.
