The cutting tool (1) has a shaft with rotational central axis and cutting elements (3,4) which are plugged-on in series on the shaft. One of the cutting elements form a cutting section (7) with multiple cutters (8) arranged equidistantly from each other. The cutting section is adjacent between two front surfaces (5,6). Each cutter extends over the length of the cutting section. The envelope of the cutting section has the shape of a cone-shaped shell. All cutting edges (9) of the cutters extend starting from one front surface with the largest outer diameter up to another front surface.
