<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a positive electrolyte secondary battery of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of improving industrial mass productivity without spoiling battery performance. <P>SOLUTION: In a process of calcining a mixture obtained by mixing a nickel complex compound having an average particle diameter of 8-20 μm, and a lithium compound and having bulk density of 1.0-2.2 g/ml by filling up in a calcination container, when thickness at the time of inserting the mixture into the calcination container is set up to be t (mm), a time for retaining temperature of the mixture at a temperature range of 550-650°C is set up to be the minimum retention time or more calculated from formula of time (minute) equal to 0.026t<SP>2</SP>-2.7.
