<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector and the like which can operate a proper source equipment in connection with operation of a projector in the situation where a plurality of source equipments may be connected to the projector. <P>SOLUTION: The projector 100 includes: an interface part 120 having a plurality of connection terminals to each of which image information is input from a different source equipment; a projection part 190 that projects an image based on the image information; a storage control part 133 that stores identification information 152 indicating the source equipment that outputs the image information, to a storage 150; an instruction information inputting part 110 to which instruction information is input; a power source control part 135 that carries out driving control of a power source 140; a determination part 131 that carries out determination based on the instruction information; and a control information generation part 132 that generates control information.
