PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical crusher for minutely crushing a raw material on a rotary table, suitable for crushing a bulky raw material layer while effectively degassing the same. SOLUTION: The vertical crusher is constructed to include a plurality of crushing rollers disposed on a rotary table, a ring-shaped ball housing disposed inside the inner circumference of the rotary table, and a cylinder mechanism disposed on the ball housing to press a plurality of degassing balls disposed underneath the ball housing onto the rotary table. By virtue of the structure, a ring-shaped degassing channel is formed on the rotary table in a manner of surrounding the feed position of feeding a raw material, and hence the raw material crushed by the crushing rollers without flowing through the degassing channel is nearly nonexistent. By virtue of vent holes formed in each of the plurality of degassing balls, a gas coming out of the raw material layer during degassing can quickly be discharged from below the degassing balls.
