PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct template displacement by using characteristics of a ladder frame. SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes: an acquisition means for acquiring image data subject to character recognition; a character recognition means for applying character recognition to the image data acquired by the acquisition means by using template information corresponding to the image data which includes at least position information about a rectangular area inclusive of a ladder frame where characters subject to character recognition are written on the image data and shape information about the ladder frame; a determination means for determining whether there are any rectangular areas where the character recognition means cannot recognize the ladder frame; and a correction means for, if the determination means determines that there is a rectangular area where the ladder frame cannot be recognized, correcting the position of the rectangular area.
