The method involves compressing input material flow of a fuel cell (11) of a fuel cell system by a compression unit (21) arranged with an electrical operated compressor (22). The compression unit is driven by a turbine (31), and the turbine is driven by a starting material current of the fuel cell under normal conditions so that input material flow is compressed by the compression unit. An exhaust valve (32) is opened, and output stream exits the fuel cell system in direction of flow viewed before the turbine. An independent claim is also included for a supply and discharge system for conditioning an input material flow of a fuel cell of a fuel cell system. |
